    This is by far the best dumpling I’ve had – right in the middle of Shanghai inside a mall. Fortunately I was with a local, otherwise it would have been very hard for me to order.

    The selection is huge and the quality is really, really high. This chain restaurant is famous of its good food and service and this one I visited surely represented the high standard this brand is famous of. The service there was also good, its staff members were polite and professional.

    There is an open kitchen where customers can see their cooks making their famous dumplings and you can see that food safety is a priority here – everything is kept clean like a lab.

    If you are ever in Shanghai, stop by for lunch – you will for sure not regret.

    No doubt, its expensive, but worth every Yuan. You get to this old neighbourhood and stop inside a parking lot and from here the magic starts. 

    It’s a tour with the Austrian Mr. Sascha Speckemeier as host and the inventor Paul Pairet in the engine room – and 23 other gastronauts to provide the scene. All this for 10 guests.

    The journey starts and it is a super well coordinated experience. Sound, smell, texture, food, breeze, wine, video. Everything is so amazingly set up and it was a spotless performance. 22 courses (I wasn’t counting, so it’s a guesstimate) and various vine, drinks, liquors, fluids – your are in for the full treat.

    I will not tell you more – just go for it and experience for yourself. It cannot be described, its a feeling that will last for very long, probably your entire life.

    My best description is that it’s like: “being inside a modernist multimedia gastro artwork and you have to eat your way out!” It’s the escape you will need to do once in your lifetime.

    This is an over the average restaurant in a shopping mall and worth visiting. It is reasonable priced but it’s a very, very noisy place.

    The food is great, fresh and quickly served and you should at least try their dessert. The famous Hangzhou dessert is kind of a unsliced toast bread filled with banana, ice cream, chocolate and brioche cubes and is a fun desert to share.
